In 2024, Multitubes launched a tube that will biodegrade in a few months in landfill, soil, or sea water or industrial composting. No micro or nano plastics, no costly PLA and no plastic fragmenting technology.
These tubes have no change in their features and can still be recycled in conventional recycling systems.
Not only will this make your products environmentally sustainable, and can be included in your mandatory sustainability reports (CSRD) ; but it will also create huge marketing opportunities and unique selling points for your business.
The biodegradation is certified by Intertek, which allows you to have their Green Leaf mark.
Here are some key points to consider:

Recycled tubes made from fishing nets
Multitubes and 0:Seanet have joined forces to create a new level of tubes for cosmetics. Through the expertise in tubes from Multitubes and the state of the art granulate from 0:Seanet, we have made it possible.
This innovative new packaging is made from recycled discarded fishing nets, collected mainly from harbors and in some cases even from the ocean. By using recycled fishing nets, Multitubes and 0:Seanet helps to reduce the amount of plastic that enters the ocean and contributes to the preservation of marine life and the well-being of the oceans themselves.
Recent studies have found that micro- and nano plastic particles may be absorbed by humans when we breathe, drink or eat. Our health and the environment are intensely interconnected, and it is extremely important that we take steps to protect both.

A high-end lipbalm is packed in our tube with silicone applicator. The tube is color matched, matt varnished and over printed with glossy silk screen.

Start-up “Krien” realizes dream packaging
Start-up company “Krien” launched their first skincare line during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve helped them realize fully customized tubes; color matched tubes, color matched caps and direct printing.
Due to the flexible capabilities of our machine park their dream was realized at relatively low volumes. 10.000 pieces overall, divided over two different tube sizes and three different designs.

Through the MyTube low-volume tube package program, Multitubes makes the highest quality available for low-quantity tube packaging. We offer starting order volumes of only 1.000 units. The MyTube tube package program can be the perfect solution for start-ups, sample productions or private label projects where high volumes simply are not an option and low-quantity tube packaging is more profitable. Every tube in the MyTube package program is featured with first-user guarantee seal and equipped with an EVOH barrier.

50%+ recycled material
A MyTube tube package is produced with 50%+ pre-consumer recycled material. This plastic is gained from our own production waste, in our own in-house recycling unit. Multitubes’ recycled material is therefore food-approved and closed-loop.

Recycled tube packaging
Multitubes is driven by innovation in the techniques for recycled tube packaging. In 2010 we introduced flexo & silkscreen printing to the world of tube packaging, a revolutionary technique that became the standard that we know today. Later that year we became the world’s first tube producer to offer 100% bio-based packaging. We continued our search to a circular economy and offered a wide pallet of recycled tube and other packaging solutions in 2018, up to 100%. Since 2021 we are waste-neutral and offer a completely in-house operated pre-consumer (food-approved) recycled plastic stream.
Recycled tube packaging for a sustainable future
Back in 2010, Multitubes’ focus shifted to sustainability. We introduced 100% bio-based tubes as world’s first company to do so. Just a few years later, we started trials with recycled tube packaging material and we currently offer a wide pallet of post-consumer recycled plastic and food-approved pre-consumer recycled plastic.
Recyclable barrier
Many brands use ABL due to their demand of a high-barrier. However, ABL is non-recyclable due to its multi-material composition. We offer seven-layered extruded tubes. With this technique we are able to offer ABL-matching barriers, whilst having a 100% recyclable pack. Due to our ultra-strong EVOH, we are capable of remaining underneath 5% of EVOH, which is considered to be the standard for recycling companies worldwide.
Overprintable foil
Many of our decoration lines allow the options to overprint cold-foil, creating unique effects and multiple colours of foil in one design. Besides recycled tube packaging, this is also a cost-efficient way to provide your tubes with foil.
Non-label look
Labelling is an amazing solution for some designs and it offers a high degree of flexibility. However, some clients don’t like the fact that it’s visible that the label is glued onto the tube. Therefore, we developed the non-label look, an overlapping label that is sealed onto the tube together with the label, so that the image appears to be printed onto the tube.

Custom-made tube packaging
Besides plastic extruded tubes, Multitubes also produces custom-made tube packaging.
This can be both tube- as non-tube-related projects. We employ technical developers and engineers and we are therefore able to develop project cost-efficiently and fast. Multitubes possesses manufacturing equipment with which we manufacture custom-made tube packaging from polyethylene, polypropylene, and PET. A brief overview of some recent projects can be found below.
Custom-made tube packaging: shaving system
Multitubes co-developed this custom-designed six-component bi-injected and compression moulded neck/plug/cap solution for a leading British consumer goods multinational (38.000 FTE). Multitubes provided conceptual assistance and technical feasibility of the concept of this custom-made tube packaging.
Industrial nozzle & overcap
Multitubes co-developed this custom-designed and -made tube nozzle packaging and matching cap for a Dutch multinational (46.000 FTE), active in the paint- and performance coating industry. We provided conceptual assistance, development and manufacturing of the tools. We assemble and manufacture over 10 million units per annum and take care of tool maintenance.
Tamper-evident closure
Multitubes developed tamper evident caps (first-user guarantee) in 40 and 50mm, orifices 1mm, 3mm, 5mm and 8mm. Suitable for all branches and they are currently being used by big food and cosmetic brands.
Deodorant applicator
We developed an applicator for an existing screw-thread. End-consumers can screw in their tubes and easily apply deodorant.
Lightweight closure & neck
We developed light-weight necks and a matching light-weight fliptop cap family in 3 diameters covering clients’ needs from 50ml up to 300ml.
Bottle, powder valve & closure
We developed a bottle, plug and cap for a British pharmaceutical multinational (99.000 FTE). Multitubes provided technical assistance during development of the tools. We also took care of tool maintenance and, since the launching date, we have manufactured over 10 million units.

Transparent tubes with post-consumer recyeled plastic
If your product needs to be seen by your customers, but you also want to use PCR, we now offer the solution.
The Multitubes Group developed transparent thin walled tubes with an overall percentage of 30% PCR (post consumer recycled) plastic in both the tube sleeve and shoulder.
A plastic reduction of 25% is realized by our thin-walled technique.
These tubes are 100% recyclable in combination with our (lightweight) PE closures.
